Omnis for Android
Privacy policy
Last updated 2 November 2026
Omnis is made by HalciniumInteractive. In short: Omnis has no account, no ads and no analytics, keeps your data on your phone, and does not sell or share it. The details are below.
Data that stays on your phone
The following is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else:
- Your blocklists, focus sessions, schedules, streaks, ranks and statistics.
- A log of blocked attempts (which app or site was blocked, and when), used for your stats.
- Wellbeing activities, check-ins and notes.
- Your name, if you enter one, and any photo you choose for the blocked screen.
- Places and Wi-Fi network names you set for schedule triggers.
Uninstalling Omnis, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes all of it. Omnis turns off Android backup, so this data is not copied to your Google account.
Permissions and why Omnis uses them
- Accessibility service. Used only to block apps and websites while you are focusing. It notices which app is in front and reads the address bar of supported browsers, so a blocked app or site can be closed. Omnis does not record what you type, read or see, and nothing it observes leaves your phone.
- VPN (on-device). Website blocking uses a local VPN that only handles website name lookups (DNS). Lookups for blocked sites are answered on your phone; all others are passed on to your network's usual DNS server, or, if that fails, to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) or Google (8.8.8.8) public DNS. No other internet traffic goes through it, and Omnis does not log your browsing.
- Usage access. Used to show your screen time per app and to enforce daily app limits. It stays on your phone.
- Location and Wi-Fi network name (optional). Used only if you set a schedule to run at a place or on a Wi-Fi network. Background location lets those schedules work while Omnis is closed. Your location is checked on your phone and never sent anywhere.
- Notifications. For session, schedule and streak notifications you can turn off at any time.
When Omnis connects to the internet
- Discover stories. Omnis downloads public news feeds from ScienceDaily and the Spaceflight News API. These requests carry no personal information beyond what any web request includes, such as your IP address. Stories open on their publishers' websites, which have their own privacy policies.
- Subscriptions. Purchases are handled by Google Play and verified through RevenueCat. They receive an anonymous app user ID, basic device details and your purchase details, as described in the Google Privacy Policy and the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. We do not receive your payment details.
Children
Omnis is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
